Motivated by a recent VeloNews article about older athletes who developed heart trouble as a likely consequence of years of competition, Greg and mattio ask themselves the hard questions about bike racing in the long term. What health concerns are there about doing this for too long? What about the impact of a challenging, time-intensive hobby on life balance in family, career, mental health? Is there a time limit on how long we can do this, and if so what is it? Bike racing is awesome but it is also hard and it is but one part of a full and fulfilling life.
